Terms of Use

The Founded is a personal-governance tool built around the Human Enterprise Theory by Dr. Stephen Thompson. It helps you organize your mission, board, decisions, journal entries, and ideas. Using the site or app means you agree to these terms.

The Founded is not medical advice, mental-health treatment, legal counsel, or financial advice. The crisis safeguards in the app are not a substitute for emergency services. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or your local emergency line.

• You're 18 or older to use the adult site. Youth users (13–17) go through Founded Emerging with parental consent.
• You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
• One person per account. Don't share accounts.
• We can suspend accounts that abuse the service, threaten others, or violate these terms.

You own everything you write: mission, decisions, journal entries, board, ideas. We get a limited license only to store and display it back to you, and to process it through the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy. We don't use your content to train AI models without your explicit, separate consent.

• Use the service to harm yourself or others, or to plan such harm.
• Upload content you don't have the right to share.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform.
• Resell or repackage the service without written permission.
• Use it to harass, dox, defame, or threaten any person.

The Founded is also a research vehicle. Nothing about your use is captured for research unless you turn it on yourself in Settings, and you can withdraw at any time. Research data is stored de-identified. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Some features require a subscription. Payments go through Stripe. You can cancel any time from Settings; access continues through the end of the billing period you already paid for. Refunds are case-by-case; reach out to the contact email below.

The Human Enterprise Theory, Founded Emerging, Thompson Coaching Method, P/AIRS Bodywork, and all associated frameworks, content, and code are the intellectual property of Dr. Stephen Thompson and The Founded Project. Patent pending. Don't copy or republish our content without permission.

The service is provided as-is. We work to keep it running and safe, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or specific outcomes from using the framework.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, The Founded Project and Dr. Stephen Thompson are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Total liability for any direct claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You can close your account any time from Settings or by emailing us. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice when reasonable.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

We'll post material changes here and email account holders. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
